In this course, you’ll learn the basic principles you need to start working with a 3d character. You will have already learnt the bouncing ball principles and in this course we will start to explore the foundations of posing, timing, spacing, breakdowns and much more.
Feature Animation Acting & Polish (AN 06)
Combine all the skills you’ve acquired and apply the concepts to a new animated shot in Feature Animation Acting & Polish course. Learn valuable techniques to refine and polish your animation and create work that stands out. In this course, you’ll learn the best practices for what to include (and what not to include) on your demo reel, and gain valuable insights into the hiring process at top animation studios.
Advanced Acting (AN 05)
Learn to create shots that cut together correctly, staging your acting to support the overall story and character arc. In the Advanced Character Acting Animation course, your assignments will focus on two-person dialogue shots and you’ll learn to find the balance between both performances. As an animator, you’ll need to bring each character to life without losing focus on the core beats of your shot.
Introduction to Acting (AN 04)
In the Introduction to Character Acting animation course, you’ll tackle two of the most challenging aspects of character animation: pantomime acting and animating dialogue. Through pantomime acting, you’ll learn to show your character’s emotions to the audience without narration or dialogue. Then you’ll move on to the most exciting concept in character animation: dialogue acting. Watch as the improvement in your animation directly impacts the quality of your characters!
Advanced Body Mechanics (AN 03)
In the Advanced Body Mechanics animation course, build on your skills from previous courses to animate increasingly physical shots. Pick a character and create your own action sequence, using cuts to help tell your story.
Body Mechanics (AN 02)
In the Body Mechanics animation course, dive deep into the physicality of animating bipeds, including full body walks. Begin by honing your observational skills and understanding of human anatomy in relation to posing and mechanics. Once you understand the source of realistic motion, you’ll learn how timing and spacing choices can take your animation from realistic to stylized. Finally, add polish and shine to your animation.
