Just wanted to share a small win from my learnings so far with the new Plasticity course! I’ve only gotten through the Blockout Body Cuts lesson, but I learned some techniques that helped me solve this section on a rifle I’ve been working on. Been able to apply a lot of stuff in a very short time!

Plasticity is a brand new 3D modeling software. The difference between Plasticity and Blender is that Plasticity focuses on NURBS-based modeling. This means that there is no โ€œtopologyโ€. Your 3D models are defined by mathematical equations and vectors as opposed to polygons.

Simply put: you donโ€™t have to deal with the same annoying mesh issues as you would in software like Blender. No geometry overlaps. No complex modifier workflows. Fast and easy-to-use tools for creating complex surfaces. You can do some serious damage with a click of a button without needing to worry about technical issues.

The best part? You can learn every single Plasticity modeling tool AND the UI in 1 hour. It is SUPER SIMPLE.
