The key to this project was to create a shield around the character when the drone attacked, blocking the attack. To achieve this look, I tried different RNDs such as Houdini, Pyro, etc. and ended up creating the effect of the quantum shield in C4D, working on the effects and smoke when the attack was blocked in EmberGen, and compositing in AE.

We’ll cover how particle systems work, how to influence and control them, and how to get around some common problems that can make or break a simulation.

This volume of the course is not an extensive introduction to all things Houdini, but it is the foundational level that will help get you started with the program and on to the more complicated aspects of the software. And, it’s a prerequisite for future planned volumes.
