In this 3 hour tutorial, Vadim will demonstrate how to create the illusion of light on the human form. Tonal drawing is a good introduction to painting, as there will be an emphasis on understanding value using an impressionistic approach in charcoal. A value scale will be an important tool to help understand the relationship between light and shadow. Vadim will do three demonstrations using a model. Basic drawing issues will be discussed such as proportion, measurement, and construction.
